Delivering Eco-Responsible Solutions

An estimated 50 million tons of e-waste are produced each year and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that only 15-20% of these are recycled. The rest of these electronics go directly into landfills and incinerators, resulting in environmental pollution plus toxic contamination of soil and ground water.

Part of the problem lies in the fact that an estimated 80% of electronics recyclers are not certified at all.

Independent industry certification is the only means of validating that a recycler has meet the highest environmental, social, safety, record-keeping and e-waste management standards.

Metech is committed to the highest environmental health and safety (EH&S) standards. Our services are delivered in compliance with all relevant industry regulations and local legislations. Some of these policies, regulations and standards that we adopt, observe and monitor constantly are:

  1. Basel Convention on the Control of Trans-boundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal. Metech is a signer of the BAN Pledge of True Stewardship.
  2. Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive in European Union
  3. Relevant environment protection rules and regulations of various national agencies
